Meet Dustie
Dustie’s Bio
Dr. Dustie Steeves is a chiropractor based on Vancouver Island, Canada, who has been helping patients move and feel better since 2007. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary before going on to complete her Doctorate in Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota.
With a passion for ongoing learning and growth, Dr. Steeves expanded her scope of care in 2018 to include animal chiropractic—combining her clinical expertise with a lifelong love of animals. She completed her animal chiropractic training through the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre and is certified by the College of Animal Chiropractors (CoAC). While she treats both humans and animals, she has a particular focus on equine care, supporting performance, mobility, and overall well being in horses.
Dr. Dustie provides comprehensive, hands-on treatment tailored to each individual. A typical visit includes muscle and fascia therapies such as Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, kinesiology taping, and percussion therapy, along with chiropractic adjustments, targeted stretches, and corrective exercises to address the root cause of dysfunction.
Known for her outgoing nature and positive energy, Dr. Steeves is passionate about helping patients return to the activities they love and improving their overall quality of life. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active and spending time with her family, her dog and ducklings. Her favourite activities include paddle boarding, yoga, kickboxing, running, and traveling.
Blurb expaining Quick Quack
When I was younger, I participated in a variety of sports and was also a competitive swimmer. During that time, my teammates gave me the nickname “Duckie. After sustaining an injury at a competition, I developed a strong interest in chiropractic care, as I was inspired to help others move freely and live without pain.
My father, who has since passed, was a great fan of the show Two and a Half Men, where chiropractors are humorously referred to as “quacks.” He always hoped that I would one day open my own clinic, and it became a longstanding family joke for him to say, “Come in for a quick quack.”
I have chosen to carry this phrase forward as part of my clinic. While it does not reflect the professionalism or quality of care I provide, it serves as a meaningful tribute to my father and continues to bring a smile to my face.
